Talewagon  Bichons  Frise

I grew up in an apartment and only had to do with cats and squirrels for pets, but I went to my uncle's farm every summer so I had animals galore.

I got married in 1951 and eventually had 3 children and an assortment of dogs. My best friend when growing up had moved to Texas when she got married and eventually in 1974 and 1975 had the Top Dog of all breeds in the U.S. It was a black standard poodle named Dassin Debauchery (Pride). My friend Joyce Bachner went on with her Storytale Kennels and Pride sired over 100 Champions. Storytale came from her first home bred Champion Success Story so she was Storytale and I took Tale and became Talewagon. For the next eight years my teenaged daughter Lyndsey and I showed and bred standard poodles. One day I noticed this little white dog and asked what it was. A Bichon Frise. I thought that would be a lot easier to carry around than a Std. Poodle so I started inquiries. Cdn./Am. BIS, BBSS Trevor's Damien lst was the top dog then and I found a Damien's daughter. She was born Christmas Day 1984 and I called her Delongte's Miss Mistletoe (Kiss). Kissy didn't have too much going for her but we loved her a lot. Eventually I bred her to Cdn./Am.BIS Ch. Cullford's "B" Major, owned by Angela Baldwin and I got Talewagon's "B's" Kiss whom we called Huggs. Huggs was born Feb.20/86 and she was my first Champion. That is how Talewagon Bichons Frise started.

At Talewagon, we are a small Hobby Kennel, dedicated to breeding proper Bichons Frise according to the Canadian Kennel Club's official Breed Standard. We are striving to produce Quality, Healthy and Outgoing Bichons Frise who, whether being shown at shows, having obedience training or just being family companions, make good canine citizens and give their owners years of pleasure.

We breed our Bichons for our own pleasure and to have quality Bichons Frise to present to the Canadian Dog Fancy. We occasionally have promising show puppies or pet puppies available and we do offer Stud services to approved females. All of our puppies leave our home CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) Registered. All of our puppies have had all shots and have health certificates. All are Micro-Chipped for identification purposes and all of our pets leave home on CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) Non-Breeding Agreements.

We began our life with Bichons and sought out the best Canada had to offer, and from one of our first breedings Canadian & American Champion Talewagon's Trinity arrived and gave us so much. Today his children and grandchildren are representing us in the show ring and in people's homes.

I don't show or groom my dogs myself, so I would like to thank all the handlers that helped me through the years:

Doug Buckingham, Allison Paulger/Alexander, William Alexander, Ed Henderson, Brenda Lee Combs, Richard Paquett, Billy Milne, Darin Lazure, Edna Staton and Valerie Weston.
