I canít remember a time when I didnít long to own a Boxer! My dream became reality in 1960 when a plain red puppy dog came into my life. I showed him a little at open shows and still have rosettes to prove it, although he was first and foremost a much loved family pet. 1969 saw the arrival of another plain red, this time a bitch, and again purely as a pet.
In 1971 I made the decision to begin showing more seriously and to breed an occasional litter. I was lucky enough to find Cherryburton Tiger Belle, a flashy brindle bred by Margaret Buck, and she became the foundation of the Rupikís.
In all I have bred 20 litters and from them have produced 2 UK, 3 Norwegian, 1 Indian, 1 Malaysian and 3 Canadian Champions. In addition 3 other Canadian and 1 American champion have been produced from my stock and sent by me as puppies to their new owners. All have produced champions, one recently achieving Sire of Merit status in Canada. But Iím particularly proud of the two homebred Canadian champion bitches who are also Canadian Dams of Merit!!!
1989 saw the arrival at Rupik of Can Ch Lounsburyís Flashback
to Rupik (Can Sire of Merit) He sired some beautiful boxers
for me and others, and sired 9 champions as well as many
other top winners. He was the love of my life and not a
day goes by without I remember him as I see his likeness
in his children and grandchildren.
In addition to awarding CCís a number of times in the
UK, I have been priviledged to judge overseas in Canada, United States, Australia,
New Zealand and Eire.
